ARTISTIC DIVERSITY

I'll be showing my work along with Susan Cawthon at the ACAI Gallery in Fair Oaks. Please join us for the Artist reception on Third Saturday, June 16th at 6:00 pm. Wine and hors d'oeuvres will be served.

ALTERNATIVE FIRING WORKSHOP

June 18 - 22
Incline Village, NV

So excited to be participating in a five day workshop at Sierra Nevada College up in the Lake Tahoe area. We will be working with Randy Brodnax & Don Ellis in their "Fast Fire 'Pottree' Alternative Firing Methods" workshop.  Can't Wait!!

NEW DAY WITH RAKU WORKSHOP

August 5th, 2018, 9:00 am
ACAI Studios, Fair Oaks

Infused Mica Techniques Workshop: This one-day workshop will introduce participants to techniques for using mica powders as coloring agents for raku pieces. Cosmetic grade mica powders can be added to terra sigillata or sodium silicate to give a raku piece a unique and colorful look. Raku techniques that can use mica include; sodium silicate, naked raku, horsehair raku, post fire reduction, and foil saggar raku. In this workshop, participants will be able to fire mica infused terra sigillata pots using horsehair, post fire reduction, and foil saggar techniques.

Sodium silicate and naked raku techniques will be demonstrated.

Cost is only $150.00 for non-ACAI Studio members.

UPCOMING SHOW

Artistic Diversity

I'll be showing several pieces (over 30) at Allied Ceramic Art Institute (ACAI) Gallery starting 6/13/18. I'm excited to be sharing this show with Susan Cawthon who creates beautiful mixed media art. Please join me and Susan for the artist reception on Saturday, 6/16, 6 to 8pm.

ALTERNATIVE FIRING WORKSHOP

Always Learning New Techniques

So excited to be attending the "Fast Fire Pottree" workshop at Sierra Nevada College in the Lake Tahoe area. June 18th to the 22nd. Randy Brodnax and Don Ellis will be our instructors in raku, copper matt luster, alcohol reduction, fuming with chlorides, horsehair, wood, low-fire salt saggar firing, lichen glazes, and more. Can't wait!

This is one of the techniques that I want to master. Being a horsewoman, the thought of having a memorial vessel using horsehair from my beloved horse is a blessing and a treasure.
